Central Texas College awarded $113K grant
Central Texas College (CTC) was recently awarded a Texas Talent Connection grant as one of 15 innovative workforce skills training and job placement programs. The $113,297 grant will be used for the Education Accelerated Gateway to Leadership and Employability Summer Camp for high school seniors immediately after their graduation. Students would apply for early admission to CTC and be placed in a certificate program focusing on early childhood professions. The summer camp will be the last two classes of the program. Upon completion, students can work as pre-school teachers, childcare associates, and pre-school and childcare center directors. The grant is administered by the Texas Workforce Investment Council in the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism division.
